We are committed to using only the freshest ingredients available. We preserve that exceptional freshness through home-style cooking, right in our own kitchens. The art of cooking is much more than following a recipe – it is attention to visual appeal, and the creation of extraordinary flavors and enticing textures. Every one of the senses plays a part in the development of our menu items.

The Owners

Indigo Café began with the husband and wife team of Rick and Tiffany Trevino. In June 2000, these two locals opened the doors to the Kearny Mesa location. The café was so popular, they decided to bring the fun Downtown. That’s when Gretchen Vedder came on board, bringing a lifetime of experience working in the San Diego restaurant scene. All three are working owners, involved in every aspect of our operations.

Rick Trevino is a graduate of the San Diego Culinary Institute. His outstanding performance and skill earned him the Peter Metz Award.

The Team

We have always wanted to keep our staff small to maintain a family atmosphere. Now that we are open in four locations, we still keep it small at each location and utilize our top performers for our Catered Events. We take great pride in our staff, many of whom have been with us for very long periods of time.
